‘Supernatural’ Just Might Go On Forever

Posted by Arni Bergsson on

Sam and Dean Winchester’s adventures on TV could practically go on forever, according to the creator of Supernatural.

And just to think, when the show started in 2005, it was only meant to last three seasons.

Eric Kripke, the creator of the fan favorite TV series which has cemented its legacy in pop culture history, recently spoke with Collider about the show and whether it’s time for Sam and Dean to call it quits.

According to Kripke, the show has no need to stop, so as long as Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles— the lead actors on the show— are willing to keep going. With “thousands of ghost stories” to draw from for new episodes, so running out of ideas won’t be the problem. The key to keeping it going is Sam and Dean alive.

Here’s how Kripke puts it:

“As long as Jared and Jensen, who are the heart of the show, are up for it, then anything’s possible.”

The upcoming season of the show will be its 14th overall, and many fans began speculating that this would be the final season of the show. While Kripke left Supernatural as the showrunner following Season 5, he sees no reason for his creation to end so as long as Padalecki, Ackles, and the fans are all still happy and entertained.
